Testimonies

A testimony is a story of what God has done. At Victory Bible Church International – North America, we love to hear – and share – how God answers prayer, changes lives and shows His faithfulness.

The Power of a Testimony

Scripture says believers overcome “by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:11). When Jesus healed a man in the region of the Gadarenes, He told him, “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee” (Mark 5:19). Testimonies give glory to God, encourage people who are waiting on Him and remind the whole church that He still works today.

How to Share Your Testimony

Your story does not need to be dramatic to be powerful. A clear, honest testimony often follows a simple pattern:

  1. The situation. What were you facing? Keep it brief and respectful of others involved.
  2. The prayer. How did you seek God? Who prayed with you?
  3. The answer. What did God do – suddenly or over time?
  4. The glory. What did you learn about God, and how has it changed you?

Tips for Writing It Down

  • Keep it short – a few paragraphs are usually enough.
  • Focus on God rather than on yourself.
  • Protect others’ privacy; avoid names or details they would not want shared.
  • Be accurate. Share what happened without exaggeration.

Where to Share

Testimonies are often shared during services and fellowship meetings. Speak with the leadership at your local VBCI branch about sharing yours, or reach us through the contact page. If you are still waiting for your breakthrough, send a prayer request – we would be glad to stand with you.

Keep a Record of God’s Faithfulness

Many believers keep a prayer journal, noting requests and later writing down how God answered. Over the years it becomes a powerful reminder in difficult seasons. You can start today – our article How to Write a Prayer Request shows how to put your needs into words.
