Victory Praise Dancers

Victory Praise Dancers is the dance ministry of Victory Bible Church International – North America. Through movement and choreography, the team expresses joy, reverence and the message of Scripture in worship.

Dance as an Expression of Worship

Dance has a long history in the worship of God’s people. After the crossing of the Red Sea, Miriam “took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances” (Exodus 15:20). King David “danced before the LORD with all his might” (2 Samuel 6:14), and the psalmist calls us to “praise his name in the dance” (Psalm 149:3). Praise dance continues that tradition.

What the Praise Dancers Do

  • Minister in services – presenting choreographed worship during church services and special programmes.
  • Tell the story of Scripture – using movement to illustrate songs and biblical themes.
  • Lead in celebration – helping the congregation enter into joyful praise.
  • Grow together – rehearsing, praying and building friendships as a team.

Worship, Not Performance

The goal of praise dance is not to draw attention to the dancers but to point people to God. That is why the team’s preparation includes prayer and a focus on the meaning of each piece. VBCI values praise and worship, creativity and innovation and commitment to excellence – all three come together in this ministry. Our article Praise and Worship in the Bible explains why worship matters so much in the life of the church.

Modest, thoughtful costumes, careful song choices and a spirit of unity within the team all help the congregation receive the ministry as worship. Dancers are encouraged to keep their personal devotional life strong, because what flows out in public begins with private time with God.
