He is VBCI’s foremost prophet and psalmist. Under his leadership, Victory Sanctuary Choir became a household name in praise and worship, creating an atmosphere of liberation for everyone that received their ministry. Bishop Elijah is respected internationally as a Prophet, Apostle of Music, Teacher, Author, Coach, and Leadership Mentor, especially in the area of praise and worship. By God’s grace, he is a diversely gifted vessel of the supernatural manifestations of God. In Bible schools, seminars, conferences, and churches around the world, the motivational passion and vision of Bishop Elijah is for every believer and every church to experience God’s glory on earth. As a result of this, he has raised many sons and daughters of the rare kind who carry the same grace in their ministries across the globe. The central theme of Bishop Elijah Saforo’s message is the Glory of the Lord and the House of the Lord, the two main streams which God has promised to restore these last days.

He authored Covering God’s Throne, which elucidates the significance of praise and worship and provides insights for enriching one’s life as a true worshipper. His works of music include his latest album, Your Majesty, and the previous album, The Name of Jesus. Bishop Saforo is a recipient the 2024 US President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Bishop Elijah is married to Rev. Mrs. Gifty Saforo, and blessed with three children. They make their home in Virginia.

“Covering God’s Throne” by Bishop Elijah Saforo

Being in the presence of God through praise and worship is conceivably God’s most cherished desire. He has since creation longed for His people to intimately have fellowship with Him, and the rewards and blessings reserved for them cannot be fathomed by any human mind. There is this great African proverb, which says "the chick which draws closer to the mother hen, is the one which enjoys the sumptuous thighs of a grasshopper." How very true.

In “Covering God’s Throne”, Bishop Elijah Saforo critically examines the genesis of praise and worship dating as far back as the era of Lucifer, the former chief worshipper and the anointed cherub who covered God's throne. This book also looks into the future when God's desire to have us all in His presence in praise and worship is fulfilled (Revelation 21). And for us today, it shows us ways of enriching our worship lives in order to fulfill scripture as being true worshippers who worship God in Spirit and in truth.
